I am renting a cottage with an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement on a 6 month Contract.

I signed for the contract on 30 Sept 08 therefore the contract finishes in March 09 and paid a deposit of

£743.00 which is being held by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme.

I wish to leave the property asap therefore wish to know if I am
A. Obliged to continue paying the rent until the end of the contract.
B. Would I lose my deposit ? (I understand this is for any damage, breakages etc )
C. If I found a replacement Tenant would I still be obliged to pay the rent until the end of the contract ?
D. How much notice do I need to give ?
