Article Specification Template

Before you start writing your article, we suggest that you and your Section Editor agree upon an article specification (an outline of your intended article). This article specification may simply be a series of bullet points that might list the following:
  • General angle and direction of the article (if not obvious from title)
  • Likely main headings / content / additional material (e.g. case material)
  • Expected size of the article (i.e. one or two pages, 800 or 1800 words)

So, do you have an idea for a LUJ article? Then let us know! Just download and fill in the LUJ's Article Specification Form with an outline of what you think would be great a great article and e-mail it to Laura Freeman at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The Article Specification Form can be downloaded below:

Still not quite sure how to fill the form in? An example Article Specification Form (which has already been completed) is available below:

It can useful to have a general discussion between your and your Section Editor once you have both agreed upon an Article Specifcation. This helps identify any subtopics, sources of information which we are aware of that might help you write the article, or even people it might be worth contacting for their views or to get a quotable opinion for your article.
